The Bronco Test

PRIMED's own build of the 1200m Shuttle Test — the aerobic benchmark used across rugby, from club pre-season all the way to the All Blacks.

How the test works
Place markers at 0m, 20m, 40m and 60m. On the signal, run: 20m out and back, 40m out and back, then 60m out and back — that's one set (240m). Repeat the full sequence 5 times without stopping, for a total of 1200m.

This is a single maximal effort — go hard from the start, don't pace yourself. Tap Set Complete after the athlete finishes each 240m set to log a split; the test auto-finishes after set 5.

Your score is your total time. Enter body weight beforehand to get your estimated Maximal Aerobic Speed (MAS).

This is a maximal effort test. Not recommended for untrained individuals or anyone with a recent lower-limb injury.

Building up to this? Try Broken Bronco (a paced training timer) or Bronco Pacer (practice runs paced to your goal time).
