The Yo-Yo Test

PRIMED's own build of the Intermittent Recovery Test — 2×20m shuttles with a fixed 10-second active recovery, exactly like the version used at soccer and rugby clubs.

Starts at 10 km/h — the standard version used by most club and school squads.
How the test works
Mark two lines 20m apart, plus a recovery line 5m behind the start. Run out and back (40m total) in time with the beeps, then you get a fixed 10-second active recovery — jog to the recovery line and back before the next run starts.

Running speed increases at set intervals throughout the test. A rising triple-beep marks every speed increase.

Tap Missed It if you don't reach a line in time. Two misses in a row ends the test. Your score is recorded as Speed Level.Rep (e.g. 16.3), alongside total distance covered.

This is a maximal effort test. Stop earlier if you feel unwell, and don't test alone if you're pushing to your limit.
